Patrick was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He earned his Bachelor’s Degrees in Biology and Nursing from Bellarmine University. He then completed his Doctorate in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Advanced Nursing Practice at the University of Louisville. During his nursing career, Patrick spent 12 years in the Level I Trauma ICU at University of Louisville Hospital. He also worked part-time as a recovery room nurse at Mary and Elizabeth Hospital, and as a Clinical Instructor at Indiana University Southwest.

Patrick is an avid cyclist who competes in numerous cycling events across the country. He lives in St. Matthews with his wife and various four legged furry friends.

Patrick is Board Certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
