Dr. Meiers received his undergraduate degree from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. He went on to attend the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he graduated cum laude. Dr. Meiers received his urologic training at the University of Cincinnati before joining Allied Urology (now First Urology, PSC) in 2003. In addition to practicing medicine, he also serves as a clinical professor of urologic surgery at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Meiers places a specific emphasis on laparoscopic surgeries, robotic surgery for prostatectomies and other renal procedures. Other special interests include neurostimulation for overactive bladder, otherwise known as InterStim therapy, as well as minimally invasive in-office procedures for BPH.
