Provide customer service in local, high volume, medical practice call center. Responsible for Answering incoming calls, greeting callers, providing information, transferring calls or taking messages per instruction from appropriate provider/clinician, documents information in appropriate methods. Responds to patient requests/messages, gives information, sets appointments, etc. Obtaining prior authorization of medications may be required. Skilled in written and verbal communication to assist with a variety of issues. Excellent ability to multitask required. Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills, must be able to work well in a fast paced environment and learn quickly. Non-Exempt.
•A high school diploma or GED.
•Minimum of 1 year call center or multi line/automated system.
•1+ yrs working clerical in physician office setting preferred
•Knowledge of medical terminology.
•Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA requirements.
•Two years of full-time experience working in a professional office environment
•Excellent written and verbal command of English.
•Demonstrated data entry skills, advanced software use including Micro-Soft Office.
•Customer service experience.
•Successful clearance screen through the Office of Inspector General (OIG) for federal health programs.
•1 or more years of previous patient triage experience, case management or utilization.
•Prescription prior authorization knowledge helpful .
•Current Medical Assistant or other nationally recognized medical certification.
•Comfortable with being on the phone with various parties for the greatest part of the day, capable of creating a professional and competent presence over the phone.
•Previous successful experience in medical ambulatory/caregiving capacity as Medical Assistant, EMS or Nurse.
•Experience with EHR systems, Isalus, Telemed or Interaction Client.
•Undergraduate Degree in business or health related field, from accredited university.
•Urological experience a plus
•Inbound appointment scheduling experience
May be expected to lift up to 5 pounds or up to 10 pounds with assistance. Work is of light demand; sitting or walking most of the time while on duty. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties.
