Duties and Responsibilities
The Collections Team Lead will assist Revenue Cycle Manager with management, oversight and productivity of the Insurance Department staff , maintenance of outstanding A/R, and resolving patient inquires related to billing.
The Lead will focus on ensuring accurate and timely follow up to claim issues, while working to identify trends with claim processing through open communication with Millennia Patient Services and collection vendors.
Primary job responsibilities include: review of outstanding AR to include denied and rejected claims, review of collector follow-up to claim denials, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information loaded to charts, maintaining follow-up queue through Millennia to address patient inquiries related to billing, review of accounts and updating information on file, when necessary, updating accounts with collection vendors, and timely response to billing inquires. Duties are subject to change at the discretion of Revenue Cycle Manager.
Position is also responsible for maintaining working knowledge of payer issues, communication with provider representatives, as well as, receiving payer announcements and staying updated on policy changes.
